Rustic full bed – When it comes down to it, there is a lot of talk about full berths more fully, but very few plans available. Fortunately, that does not have to be an obstacle to building your own. There are many plans available for sturdy full beds. Since both berths will be built to the same dimensions, that aspect of construction is not a problem.
The only other information you need relates to how high each bed should be, and how to build a proper strong access ladder. This information can be obtained from any good set of rustic full bed plans. You can also consider purchasing a set of plans on twin over complete bunk beds, and using the dimensions of the full bunk in the construction of the two beds.
While many individual full beds are designed with the ability to be separated into single beds, this is not common practice in the construction of full size bunk beds. If you decide to do so, you will have to make holes in the bottom parts of the corner posts of the top bunk and the top of the corner posts of the bottom bed. Next, insert pins into these holes to keep the beds together. These holes should be aligned carefully and, due to their size and weight, you will have to use dowels that are at least 3/4 inch in diameter.
