Making your king size wood bed frame is not as difficult as it seems, and with a few tools you could make your frame in a couple of hours. Once it’s the frame, dress it up with linens for a complete look. Buy four sheets of plywood for the entire bed. Since each sheet is 4 by 8, you can cut the four pieces of the frame out of one sheet, the panels outside the second sheet and the plywood frame of the remaining two sheets.
Cut the pieces of the structure of the bed of the wood with a circular saw. Since it is a double bed, it will have two pieces of 80 inches long and 6 inches wide and two pieces of 76 inches long and 6 inches wide to complete the frame of the box. Cut the four pieces of each sheet of plywood. Mount the four pieces to make a rectangular frame and nail each corner together with a hammer and nails without a head. You can also use a nail gun, if you have it to mount the frame faster.
Cut six planks out of the wood for use as a support inside the box. The measurements of the width of the boards inside will vary depending on the thickness of the wood you choose, so measure before cutting for a precise fit. To measure, place the tape inside the longest part of the structure and measure through to the opposite side. Cutting the board supports that measure on the second sheet of plywood.
